This morning, just like every other, began with a 4:30 a.m. call to prayer as the city filled will a song coming from the minaret tower. The sound was dark and eery and its purpose was not one pleasing unto God – nor to anyone trying to sleep at 4 a.m. As I lay wide-eyed, I couldn’t help but think about all of the people (specifically the Muslims here in Jordan) who do not know Jesus and his goodness.
For these people, please pray that God would intervene and that they would someday come to know the one true King. The only one that will ever be able to give them the peace and clarity that they are searching for.
Another prayer request is for the Iraqi refugees since the United Nations has now cut them off and refuses to give them any type of help. Global Hope, the group we are partnering with here in Amman, is not able to afford all of the medicine and supplies that are needed to help these people. Because of this, pray that God would provide and open doors for Global Hope to be able to assist these people the most efficient way possible.
We have had many divine encounters the past few days but today was special when our new friend Abraham brought all of us handmade bookmarks. The detail in his work was so accurate and amazing to witness. Abraham spoke excellent english and had a huge heart for Jesus.
“You are here to serve us, so now I want to serve you,” Abraham said.
It gives us so much joy to see people who are standing boldly for the Lord in a country where doing so goes against the religious norm.
2 Corinthians 4:8-10 – “We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.”
Pray that more people here would stand boldly for Christ.
After another full day of the glasses ministry, it is pleasing to see the gratefulness and joy on the faces of the people receiving new glasses. We are excited for our day tomorrow, which will start in the morning with humanitarian relief and end with a third day of the eye glass ministry.
